Prize « FRANCOIS 1er de l’EMBALLAGE DE LUXE » 2002
Presentation box for the Longines Lindbergh 75th Anniversary Edition watch
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Lindbergh's Atlantic crossing, on May the 20th 2002, LONGINES created 75 replicas of the original "Hour Angle" navigator's watch, which they had developed from Lindbergh’s own design in 1931.
To host this exceptional watch, a timeless case was designed by Brigitte Ponchel, to relate this memorable adventure. This case won the François 1er prize.
Crafted in beech, the case is the same colour as Lindbergh's jacket and the “Spirit of Saint Louis” in flight is engraved on its lid. Inside, in a soft chamois skin trim, the Atlantic cradles the watch between both continents under Lindbergh's flight plan engraved on Plexiglas.
